Privacy Policy

Essency Creek House (essencycreek.us) is a personal site about one family's property in the Snoqualmie Valley, Washington. It is not a business and sells nothing. This page explains what it collects and why.

If you are just reading the site

Most of the site — history, projects, notes, wildlife — is public and requires no account. If you only read those pages, we do not ask you for any personal information, and there is no advertising or third-party tracking.

The site uses Vercel Analytics, which records anonymous, aggregated page-view counts. It does not use cookies for this, does not build a profile of you, and does not identify you personally.

If you sign in

Sign-in exists only for the property owners. Access is restricted to a short list of specific email addresses; anyone else who attempts to sign in is refused. Signing in is handled by Google, so this site never sees or stores your Google password.

When you sign in, we receive from Google:

• your name, email address, and profile picture, to identify you; and
• read-only access to your Google Calendar, used solely to copy event titles and dates into the property maintenance calendar when you press “Sync”.

The calendar access is read-only: this site cannot create, edit, or delete anything in your Google Calendar. Calendar data is only read when you explicitly trigger a sync, and only the synced events are stored. You can revoke this access at any time at your Google account permissions page.

Google user data obtained through these scopes is used only to provide the features described above. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with third parties beyond the service providers listed below that are required to operate the site.

Where the data lives

• Supabase — the database holding property records and synced calendar entries.
• Cloudinary — hosting for photographs uploaded to the site.
• Vercel — hosting and the anonymous analytics described above.

Private content — documents, expenses, errands, and the calendar — is readable only by signed-in owners. It is enforced in the database itself, not merely hidden in the interface.

Retention and deletion

Property records are kept as long as the site exists, since that is the point of it. Completed errands are deleted automatically after a year unless marked otherwise. To have your account and its associated data removed, email the address below and it will be deleted.

Children

The site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
